Buddy Gene Freidel was born September 30, 1966, to Howard and Jackie (Rollins) Freidel in Missoula, Montana. Buddy grew up in Black Hawk, S.D. In 1985 he graduated from Rapid City Central High School. Shortly after graduating he entered the Army where spent four years. Buddy enjoyed hunting which he often did with his father and brother. He and his siblings also spent a great deal of their childhood with their maternal grandparents L.C. and Joan Rollins. This time was spent riding horses, going to parades, horse shows, rodeos and working in the hay fields. Buddy was extremely talented in woodwork which translated into his own construction company.

Buddy met and married his wife, Dawn Herron in Black Hawk, S.D. October 4, 2013.

Buddy, 51, Piedmont, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at his home.

He is survived by his wife Dawn; sons, Jacob Laware, Ethan Freidel and Orrin Stoddard; grandson, Sebastian Stoddard; mother, Jackie, of Washington; sister, Christine (Jason) Foust, of Washington; brother, Joseph, of Iowa; and 2 nephews and 4 great nieces.

Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Howard R Freidel; his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
