Calvin Mangelsen 81 of Rapid Valley passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Ft Meade VA Hospital.

A funeral service will be 1:00pm Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis, with Rev. Nick Rombaugh officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard.

Cal was born June 29, 1929 in Union County, SD to Jake and Bessie Mangelsen. After school Cal joined the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Jeanette Mangelsen on March 5, 1991

I his younger years he enjoyed farming, running, the Hermosa Garage, fishing, hunting, and horse back riding. As he grew older his life was his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren whom he spent all of his time with.

Cal will be Loved and Missed by all!

Survivors include his wife Jeanette, daughters Sandy Blalack, Pam Coleman, Georgina Mandley, sons John Warne, Bryan Warne, brother Elmer Mangelsen, sisters Helen Neth, Shirley Ramhorst, Darlene McPherson, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
