Obituary

Carol Jean Kratz, was born November 23, 1944 to Adam and Ida Doll in Mandan, ND. She grew up in Mandan with her parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother, and she attended Mandan schools. It was here she met the love of her life, Jim Kratz. They moved to Deadwood, SD, where they married on January 25, 1964, and to this union 4 children were born, Bobbie, Jeff, Danny, and Jimmy.
Carol was an avid bowler and loved going to the casinos to play slots and slot tournaments with her friends, she enjoyed making frequent trips up to North Dakota to see her sisters, and had many other hobbies. Carol was the lifeline of the family. Anything you needed, if it was advice, someone to talk to, or just needing the recipe to one of her famous dishes, you could count on her to be there. She enjoyed very much spending time with her family. Carol was an exceptional cook, and her cooking will be missed dearly.
Carol passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 surrounded by a few of her loved ones. She will be missed greatly.
Carol is survived by her husband, Jim Kratz; 4 children, Bobbie Isaak, Jeff (Sheila) Kratz, Danny Kratz, and Jimmy (Lea Ann) Kratz; 8 grandkids, Brooklyn Isaak, Jaaron (Maranda) Isaak, Tonisha (Dustin) Mund, Tierney Isaak, Alysha Kratz, Keaton Kratz, James Long, and Treonna (Craig) Solvie; 6 great-grandkids; 2 sisters, Donna (Tom) Miller and Gloria (Jerry) Schauer; several nieces and nephews; and a special group of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Ida Doll; brother, David Doll; son-in-law, Mark Isaak; and grandson, Kaiden Long.
Private family services will be held.
