Carolynn L. Erickson, 84, Sturgis, SD, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at the Lippold Hospice Suite at Sturgis Regional Hospital.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

Memorial services will be held Monday, September 30, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Henrique Fleming officiating. Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Carolynn was born May 12, 1929, at St. Onge, SD, to Lawrence and Lora (Branch) Aga. She grew up in the Alkali community and attended grade school at the Alkali school. She graduated from Sturgis High School. Carolynn received her teaching certificate from Black Hills State College.

Carolynn married Wayne Erickson September 10, 1949, in Sturgis. They lived and raised three sons in Sturgis. Carolynn taught at country schools and later helped Wayne with his construction business. Carolynn worked at Phil Town as night auditor for several years. She also ran Sturgis Floral and Gifts for a few years.

Carolynn was a beloved member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was a life-member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was also a founding member of the Sturgis Community Federal Credit Union.

Carolynn is survived by three sons, Lawren (Karen) of Rapid City, Carroll of Sturgis, and Roy of Chadron, NE; ten grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Blane, Shaun, Tiffany, Patrick, Kameron, Matthew, Kayla, and Megan; four great-grandchildren, Devin, McKayla, Amelia, and Elenore; one brother, Raymond (Annabel) Aga of Sturgis; and one sister, Eva (Ted) Sigman of Sturgis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents; sisters, Joyce and Connie; and brother, Marvin.

A memorial has been established to Grace Lutheran Church.
