Carrie was born in Moorehead, MN, on June 6, 1963, the daughter of Carl Aabye and Cheryl Peterson.

She grew up and attended school in the Moorehead, MN, area where most of her family lived. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Chapell of Rapid City, SD, married September 17, 2010.

Carrie was an incredible person. She enjoyed working around people and had the ability to make them smile. She loved spending time with her grandchildren as often as possible. She loved to go camping, travel and wanted very much to take one last trip, to take her mother to Colorado. She enjoyed going to bingo, thrift store shopping, cooking and her new found love of crafting, yet still leaving time to spend with her friends.

Carrie Lynn Olson, age 53, of Fargo, ND, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at home in Box Elder, SD, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was survived by her daughter, Stephanie Olson; son, Lee Folden; daughter, September Martin; sisters, Dawn, Carla, Christy and Cara; brothers, Craig and Cory; four nephews and 5 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Chapell.

A special thank you to Carrie's friends, Sherry and Chris Aldridge of Box Elder, SD, who were blessed to be a part of her life and support her wishes of remaining comfortable at home until her angel wings were granted.

Interment service at the Black Hills National Cemetery are being handled by Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Sturgis. This will be a private event for immediate family only. A "CELEBRATION OF LIFE" will be held at 1:00 pm at the Time Out Lounge on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 615 E. North Street, Rapid City. SD.

Graveside services will be held 11:30 am Friday, March 31, 2017 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
