Carroll G. Hale, 77, Rapid City, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at the Bella Vista Nursing Home in Rapid City.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., today, Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial with military honors follows at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Carroll was born Dec. 22, 1928, at Chalk Butte, to Sandy L. and Hazel (Meskie) Hale. He grew up on a ranch at Chalk Butte and attended rural school there. After the eighth grade, he worked on a ranch for Ed Lovegren until he went into the army for two years. He joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

Carroll married Beverly McDaniels at Union Center, on June 6, 1953. He continued to work for Ed Lovegren until 1962. He moved to Whitewood, and worked for Gadson Electric.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Hale; daughter Kimberly Hale, Rapid City; brother, Les Hale, Union Center; sister, Doris Ergann, Annandale, MN.
