Casey Allen Chord passed away in Phoenix, AZ, on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the age of 57.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, SD at 10:00 a.m.

Casey was born in Cheyenne, WY, on January 15, 1957, to Everett Ellsworth Chord and LaVera Sundstrom.

He graduated from Edgemont High School in 1975 and the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1979. Casey relocated to the Phoenix area in 1981, and married Kari Cunningham in 1986.

Casey worked as an aeronautics engineer for Honeywell Aerospace, retiring in 2000 due to his medical condition. Before retiring, Casey traveled to Egypt, Israel, Germany and France, as well as multiple locations within the United States. Teaching guitar and music theory, Casey played guitar for his church, and pursued many other artistic endeavors.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a grandchild, Taylor.

A memorial has been established to Northern Hills Hospice.
