Cecilia was born April 27, 1925, at Port Angeles, WA, to Fred and Mary (Henry) Waldecker. She graduated from Lemmon High School in 1945 and attended various colleges. On February 5, 1947, she married Robert Hinker at Lemmon, SD.

Cecilia was a telephone operator in Lemmon, Sturgis, and Deadwood for North Western Bell Telephone Company. She had her own upholstery shop in Whitewood for several years. She worked as a Deputy Auditor in Lawrence and Meade County prior to retirement.

Cecilia was active in the auxiliaries in the VFW, Moose, and Elks. She was a support for her children's sports activities. She also made jewelry and finished wood projects built by her husband, Bob. She loved to garden and grow fruit trees, vegetables, flowers, and especially her roses. Cecilia was a member of the St. Francis Parish and helped with Bike Week meals, the fall bazar, bible study, and the making of rosaries. She was a member of Thursday Club and Rotary International and she worked the election boards. She and Bob were members of the Town n Country Square Dance Club.

Cecilia M. Hinker, 92, Sturgis, died Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her three children, Jeanette Kuntz, Timothy, and Jerry Hinker; grandchildren, Jennifer (Roland) Enninga, Eric (Kate) Kuntz, Paul Kuntz, Jared (Ashley) Hinker, Leah (Adam) Hosch, and Lacey Hinker (Orion); great-grandchildren, Tina Enninga, Lora Enninga, Jesse Enninga, Connor Enninga, Robert Pruchnicki, Shane Pruchnicki, Kinley Pruchnicki, Ragen Hinker, and Cameron Hinker.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hinker.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:00 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis on Thursday, November 9, 2017.

Committal services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Friends may gather at the cemetery.

A memorial mass will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis.

A memorial has been established to the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
