Charles "Charlie" Edward Warren, 76, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of August 29, 2025, following a hip fracture sustained in a fall.
Charlie was Born on December 3, 1948, to Robert and Julia (Pudwill) Warren, Charlie was the fifth of seven children and grew up in McIntosh, SD.
Charlie graduated from McIntosh High School in 1967 and pursued further education at a business school. He dedicated 29 years of his career to Ellsworth Air Force Base, retiring with a legacy of commitment and service.
Despite living with a physical disability, Charlie never allowed it to define him. His determination and positive spirit shone through in all he did, inspiring those around him with his resilience and zest for life. Known for his gift of gab, Charlie could strike up a conversation with anyone and was always ready for a lively game of cards, bringing joy and laughter to every gathering.
Charlie lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a cherished legacy of warmth, humor, and connection. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
He is survived by his youngest sister, Penny (LeRoy) Burke, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends, including Roy VanBerkum, who remained by his side until the end. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Julia Warren; four sisters, Sharron (Perry) Nydigger, Geraldine (Alfred) Pack. Paulette (Earl) Miller-Jones, Sandra (Lyle) Norton; and one brother, Guy (Elaine) Warren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice in Charlie's memory.
