Obituary

Charles William Haigh, 62, Hot Springs, Sd, passed away at the SD State Veterans Home, Hot Springs, SD, on March 2, 2013.

He was born in Miller, SD to Linell Elgin and Matilda Ann (Froning) Haigh on December 12, 1950.

Charles graduated from Miller High School in 1969 and volunteered for the US Navy and served as a bomb handler on the aircraft carrier USS Bonhomme Richard during the Vietnam War.

Upon his discharge he attended Black Hills State University in Spearfish SD. He was plant forman for Delizer Construction during Interstate 90 construction, was a private pilot ad sky diver with over 250 jumps.

He went to Southeast Alaska and was a commercial salmon /Halibut fisherman.After moving to Lake Tahoe CA he became assistant scrutiny chief for Caesar's Palace Casino. Upon returning to the Black Hills, he worked for Mike O'Connell a the Dakota Territory and the Gold Dust Casinos in Deadwood. Ill health sent him to the VA Hospital in Sturgis and then on to Hot Springs.

Survivors in clude brothers,Duane and Robert.; sisters Katherine, as well as long time friends Ross Bauer, Leland, Gary Leene, Albert, Mike White and Hoof.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lionel "Shorty" and Matilda.

He in inurned at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Miller, SD.
