Charles was born March 7, 1937, in Redmond, OR, to Charles and Ethel (Marshal) Wood. He grew up in Yakima, WA. On November 1, 1958, Charles married Frances Kallenberger in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Charles worked as a miner at Homestake Gold Mine in Lead, SD.
Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Tina (James) Wilson, Deadwood; son, Charles E. Wood, Sturgis; brother, Jimmy Wood; two sisters, Shirley Taylor and Babe Honeycutt; three grandchildren, CJ Wood, Sam Wood, and Aleah Scott; and one great-grandson, Troy Olson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
