Charlotte Ann Bethea, 66, Newell, died Monday, October 28, 2013 at her residence near Newell.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Austin Auditorium at the Newell High School with Pastor Roger Monson officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

A memorial has been established to the South Dakota Rancher Relief Fund.

Charlotte was born May 24, 1947 at Belle Fourche, SD, to Harvey and Bonna B. (Price) Knuteson Jr. She attended the Sheffield School and graduated from Newell High School in 1965. She moved to California where she married Samuel Dudley Bethea on September 16, 1967. They moved to Florida and in 1968 they returned to Newell. Charlotte was active in farming and ranching. She also ran a feedlot.

She was active in 4H and started the Newell Wrestling Club. She also like sewing, quilting, and gardening. She loved her animals and was all "about" her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Bruce (Wendy) Bethea, Weston, WY, Dean (Joan) Bethea, Sundance, WY; mother Bonna Bea Knuteson, Brookings; brother, Dwight (Linda) Knuteson, Volga; sister, Nancy Blumenstock, Valentine, NE; also 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, brother and one nephew.
