Charlotte "Dolly" was born March 26, 1922, to Russell and Sarah (Humphrey) Olmstead of Carthage, SD. She was married to William Taylor June 3, 1939, in Carthage, where they lived and farmed until moving with their young family to Newcastle in 1950. Charlotte and Bill relocated to Missoula, MT, in 1968, and spent many happy years on their little "ranch" in the Bitterroot River Valley until returning to Newcastle in 1993.
Charlotte was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She had a lifelong love of music and sang in many church choirs. She enjoyed camping, gardening, and baking with Bill, embroidery work, and especially enjoyed time spent with family.
Charlotte Lucille Taylor, 96, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Weston County Manor in Newcastle, WY.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynda (Bill) Russell, and Sandra Elfstrom; sons, Jay Taylor and David (Beverly) Taylor; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; infant son, William; her parents; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; and son-in-law, Gene Elfstrom.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newcastle, where she was a member for many years. Pastor Tsena Dinssa will officiate. At a later date, Charlotte will be at eternal rest with Bill in Black Hills National Cemetery.
