Cheryl Marie Sperle, 62, Sturgis, SD, died Saturday, September 16, 2006, at her home in Sturgis.

Cheryl was born March 28, 1944, at Mobridge, SD, to Henry and Emily (Cartwright) Reimer. She grew up in Mobridge and moved to Lead, SD, in the mid fifties. She finished her schooling in Lead and started working as a waitress.

On October 7, 1961, she married Merlyn Sperle and the couple lived in several states and overseas while Merlyn served with the United States Air Force. Upon his retirement, the couple moved to Mobridge and lived there until they moved to Sturgis in 1991.

Cheryl provided day care for area children and was a nanny for a family until her health forced her to retire.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one half sister, Gerry, and two sisters, Linda and Susan.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Charley Conger officiating. Burial follows at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

A memorial has been established to the Hospice of the Northern Hills.
