Christopher Dailey Nye, 74, of Sundance, WY, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Fort Meade VA Medical Center, Fort Meade, SD, after succumbing to a very rapid and aggressive cancer.

Chris Nye was born in Denver, Colorado, on November 7, 1950, but moved shortly after that to Casper, Wyoming.  After high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served in many deepwater locations, including offshore bombardment duties in Vietnam, where he was exposed to Agent Orange.  He served one term, then began a series of many jobs that all included his favorite feature:  hard physical labor outdoors.  He cared for dairy cattle, drove trucks, operated heavy equipment, and, after retirement, became a co-caregiver for his folks.  He was married three times but remained childless.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Stel; his stepbrother, Don; his biological father, Robert; his mother, Janet; and his stepfather, Bob Walkinshaw.

He is survived by his brother, Dave; his sister, Holly, and his stepbrother, Bill Walkinshaw.

No services will take place, per his request.  The family will hold a Celebration of Life for him and for Don Walkinshaw on their lands in the spring.
