Christopher J.” Chris” Roden, 28, Sturgis, SD passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026 at his home. Memorial Services for Chris will be at 4:00 PM, Friday, May 29, 2026, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

Christopher Joseph Roden was born December 24, 1997 to Richard J. “Jimmy” and Susan M. (Evans) Roden in Bullhead City, Arizona. Chris lived with his mother in Bullhead City, until 2012. His mother had health problems then and Chris moved to live with his father and step-mother in Gillette, Wyoming. About a year later they moved to Belle Fourche, South Dakota. While living in Belle Fouche he began attending Black Hills Special Services. About five years ago, he moved to a group home in Sturgis.

He worked for Black Hills Special Services shredding documents. Chris enjoyed spending time in the Black Hills, especially spending time at Sheridan Lake. He also loved his beads and ribbons.

He was loved by many people and was always happy, attracting love from those he met.

Chris is survived by his father and step-mother, “Jimmy” and Laurie Roden; brother, Richard J. Roden; uncles, David Evans, Jonathon Evans, Billy Roden, Victor Roden and aunt, Susan Cheney; along with numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan.
