Nisland ~ Clyde B. Elwood, 83, of Nisland, passed away, Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Dept of Veterans Affairs, Fort Meade, SD. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Survivors include his wife, Vera Elwood; two sons, Clyde Elwood and Edward Elwood; four daughters, Wanda Estes, Terry Elwood, Rose Abernathy and Jean Mardian; a sister, Dorothy Rainbolt; ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jacque and a brother, Vernon Elwood. Upon his request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
