SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Cody Jay Duprel, 26, Sheridan, WY, and formerly of Sturgis, died Saturday, July 28, 2007 in Sheridan.
Visitation will be 8 am to 9 pm on Wednesday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis with Fr. Michel Mulloy officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A memorial has been established to an educational fund for his daughters.
Cody was born September 1, 1980, at Rapid City, SD, to Kim (Schmidt) and Alfred Duprel. Cody was educated in the Sturgis Public School System and graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 1999.
Cody participated in Wrestling, FFA, 4H, Football, Rodeo, and Marine Corps Jr. ROTC. Cody loved the ranch and the cowboy way of life. He enjoyed working with horses and the outdoors. Cody was employed by the Advance Fencing Company in Sheridan at the time of his death and also the Duprel Ranch near Sturgis.
Survivors include his parents, Alfred and Kim Duprel, Sturgis; two daughters, Cally Mae and Camy Lynn Duprel, and their mother, Crystal Dunkelberger all of Viborg, SD; three brothers, Dusty Duprel, San Diego, CA, Andrew Duprel, Sturgis, Alex Duprel, Sturgis; one sister, Nicole Duprel, Sturgis; grandparents, Marylin and Bob Anderson, Sturgis; Special friend, Nicole Blom, Sheridan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; his dog, Mister, and his horses, Stormy and Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Andy Duprel, and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Mervyn Schmidt.
