Colleen Gaye O'Brien, 66, passed away September 18, 2022, at Monument Health Hospital after a long illness.

She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 30, 1956, to James and Margaret (Waters) O'Brien. She graduated from Barstow High School in Barstow, California. Colleen was a resident of California until she found her home in Rapid City and the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Colleen worked for TSA at the Rapid City Regional Airport and as security at Monument Health Hospital. She enjoyed reading, hockey, and shooting pool.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Richard O'Brien Sr.; mother, Margaret Louise O'Brien; brothers, James Richard O'Brien Jr and Michael Wayne O'Brien.

Colleen is survived by her two sons, Jason Miller and James Miller both of California; three grandchildren; sister, Evelyn (O'Brien) Shaw of Arizona; and brother, Robert O'Brien of Texas; two aunts, Marie (Earl) Berryman and Teresa Zornes both of Kentucky; best friend, James Nickles and many cousins.

Per her request there will be no services.
