GILLETTE | Colleen Diane (Keith) Osborne, 78, of Gillette, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born in 1936 and grew up on the south side of Chicago, Illinois, in the Roseland neighborhood. Colleen attended Catholic grade school and Fenger High School. She graduated from DePaul Business College and worked as a legal secretary for Jay Jones Realty in Homewood, Ill.. She also enjoyed working as waitress and bartender at her mother's restaurant, Keith's, in downtown Homewood. One of her proudest accomplishments as a young woman was working for and purchasing a 1955 baby blue, Ford Thunderbird. She met Jim Collins at the restaurant and they married in 1960 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Flossmoor, Ill. She was a homemaker very much involved in her children's activities such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and served as "picture lady" at the elementary school. She enjoyed summer vacations with family at her mother's cottage in Bass Lake, Indiana. For many years she worked as a para-professional and cottage parent at N.E.W. B.O.C.E.S. She was a Special Olympics volunteer and otherwise involved in her son Brad's numerous activities. She was very much involved in her church, Holy Trinity Episcopal, as part of the Alter Guild, the Daughters of the King Ministry, Stephens Ministries, Sunday School Teacher, Episcopal Church Women and more. Colleen was active on the Board of Directors of RENEW. She was also a pivotal part of bringing the Medicaid Waiver for adults to Wyoming, even traveling to the State Legislature to advocate. Her "Trip of a Lifetime" was touring Italy with her husband Jim Osborne. She is survived by her husband, Jim Osborne, and their children Bridget Collins-Vance (Ken) of Gillette, Bret E. Collins (Marian) of Kirkland, Illinois, Brad Collins of Gillette, Doreen Jennings (Randy) of Albuquerque, New Mex., Stephanie Sikorski of Menasha, Wis., James Osborne Jr. of Appleton, Wis., Allison Osborne of Gillette, Jennifer Klapka (John) of Appleton, Wis., Severin Osborne (Jennifer) of Neenah, Wis., Jerry Osborne of Denver, Colo., Allie McGlouth (Dustin) of Sioux Falls, SD, Micheal Hughey (Marcey) of Gillette, Larry Hughey of Las Vegas, Nev.; 31 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Colleen was also friend and counsel to many. She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Vera Keith; her sister in-law, Judy Lynne Keith; first husband, James Earl Collins; and second husband, Robert McGuire. A Celebration of Life for Colleen will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 5101 Tanner Dr. in Gillette. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Colleen's honor to Trinity Episcopal Building Fund or Trinity Episcopal Altar Guild at the same address.
