Colleen Kae
Pierce
Jul 22, 1946 — Apr 3, 2017
Colleen Kae Pierce, 70, passed away April 3, 2017 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
On July 22, 1946 Colleen was born to Jimmie and Martha Clark in Deadwood, SD. She grew up in Lead and graduated from high school in 1964. She then went on to Karl Johns Beauty School in Rapid City, graduating in 1965.
Colleen married her best friend and the love of her life on December 31, 1967 in Lead, SD. Larry and Colleen celebrated every year with a get together of family and close friends, usually making egg rolls by the dozen and playing cards and board games.
For over 30 years Colleen did hair, even owning her own salon in her home so that she could be with her children. Colleen was a beautiful and talented artist, she loved her tole painting shop (Tole Stop) where she taught painting classes to many. She had hundreds of pieces that she loved to share with family, friends, teachers, and co-workers.
Colleen's last job was working at Mineral Palace and Black Stone Inn, there she met many of her dearest friends and some lifelong Sturgis Rally goers.
She was crazy over her family, she loved to spend every minute she could with them. She loved to watch Kadden play football and wrestle. Kashton shared her love of art, she loved to see him show off his work. Kingston was Grama's helper, anything he could do for her always ended up with them having a movie night. Harrison enjoyed teaching Grama songs from school and coloring. Kelton loved reading and watching nursery rhymes with her. Quinn was born while she was quite ill but she was so excited to get a new grandbaby and spoil him with her love. She loved having family dinners, watching the kids play outside, playing cards, computer games, movie nights and an ice cold Coke.
Colleen left behind her wonderful husband, Larry Pierce; son, James (Jessica Klym); daughter, Clancey (Luke Fisher); six incredible grandsons, Kadden Dillman, 15, Kashton Dillman, 12, Kingston Pullen, 7, Harrison Pierce, 5, Kelton Pullen, 4, and Quinn Fisher 1 week.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Martha Clark and granddaughter, Kendalyn Pullen.
Services will be held at the Christian Ministry Center located at 111 S. Main in Lead at 11 am on Friday, April 7, 2017.
