Connie I. (Dryden) Montgomery, 83, passed away at home surrounded by family in South Dakota. Connie was born to Walter F. and Lillian (Nelson) Dryden on May 16, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. Connie spent 75 years of her life living in Fremont, NE.

She graduated from Fremont Senior High School in 1960. She married Charles L. Montgomery November 24, 1961 and to them was born a daughter, Lori Montgomery in November 1962. Connie worked at several places in Fremont throughout the years; Woolworth's, Brady's Grocery, Coast to Coast, and retired from Hydro-Conduit, Valley, NE in 2010.

Connie was called to the office of Priest in 1986, and then to Elder. Serving the Lord and carrying God's Word throughout the community was her greatest joy. Connie enjoyed sewing and donating items to local organizations. Connie was a member of Prairie Peace Makers, Stitch a -bit and God's Sewing Bee's. She had a passion for researching the family genealogy back to the 1400's, making scrapbooks and sharing them at family reunions. Connie was also a member of Alanon for 46 years. Her greatest joy was sending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Montgomery) Henry and son-in-law, Christpher Elmquist; grandchildren, Jacob (Alexis) Henry, Abbey Henry Murnahan, Noni Henry (Mitch McKeithan) and great grandchildren, Emma, Liam, Slyvana, Cody, and Lillian; brother, Walter (Elaine) Dryden; sisters, Sally Zvacek and Wanda Maki, Ginger (Tom) Morgan; brother-in-law, Carl Barton (Debbie); sisters-in-law, Cinda (Roy) McCabe, Diane Barton, Tricia (Richard) Loewe; aunt, Verna Buettnet, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and son-in-law, David H. Henry.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the family, The Make A Wish Foundation, or Black Hills Pregnancy Center (Rapid City, SD).

A Celebration of Life will be held in Fremont, NE at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 649 N. Main St. on November 29, 2025 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The burial will take place at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD at a later date.
