Obituary

On Tuesday, September 18, 2018, Conrad 'Con' Comer of Spearfish, SD, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends.
Con was born August 10, 1950, in Deadwood, SD, to Cecil and Dolores Comer. Con attended school in Pluma, Rapid City, and Deadwood. Con graduated from Deadwood High School in 1968. It was during high school that Con met and fell in love with his high school sweetheart, Vikki Lungren.
Con and Vikki were married in 1967 and they had their first son, Timm. After graduation, Con and Vikki moved to Castle Rock, CO, so Con could attend mechanics' college. Con and Vikki had their second son, Scott, during this time in Colorado.
Mechanics' college led Con to a lifetime of work in the automobile industry. In 1973, Con moved his family back to Deadwood so the boys could be raised around the large extended family. Con continued to work in the automobile industry, including owning and operating Con's Service Center in Deadwood, as well as worked for several automobile dealerships in the Black Hills.
Con had a great passion for his customers and customer service. This continued with Con until the very end.
Con's personal passion was his family and the outdoors. Con attended all activities for his boys and continued this passion by attending his grandchildren's activities. His love for the outdoors included hunting and working around the house. Con always had a project and prided himself on doing the job right the first time.
Lucky to have been in Con's life include his wife of 51 years. Vikki; eldest son, Timm (Michelle) Comer of Spearfish; son, Scott (Keyra) Comer of Spearfish; and the loves of his life, his grandchildren, including Lyndy (Brandon), Lexie, Hunter, Kenna, Connor, Chelsea, Jackson, and Maxx.
So many other members of family meant so much to Con, including his brother, Craig Comer, numerous cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and god children. Con considered many friends and neighbors as close as family and he cared for them deeply.
Con was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Dolores Comer; paternal grandparents, Vern and Mae Comer; and maternal grandparents, Ray and Lillie Cowles.
Memorials have been established for the Little Dane Church and his grandchildrens' college funds.
