Gillette,WY - Conrad (Connie) Franklin Schuhrke, 72, lost his battle with cancer on April 24, 2012 at his home in Gillette, WY. He was surrounded by his loved ones and went very peacefully. Conrad was born April 16th 1940 in Belfield, ND. He was the tenth child born to Catherine (Vokal) and Dewey Schuhrke. Conrad moved to Gillette, WY at the age of 18 to work in the booming oil and gas industry. Conrad was a driller and tool pusher for several oil and gas companies over the past 50 years including: HLM, Exeter, Swanson Drilling and others. He retired in 2007 from Sage Drilling. In 1961 he married Karen Bennett and to this union three daughters were born: Kathy, Christine and Caroline. Conrad and Karen later divorced. In 1989 Conrad met Lori Koch and they became good friends. He was quickly welcomed into her family becoming a beloved Father, Grandfather and friend. He loved fishing, hunting and playing dice. He enjoyed spending time in Deadwood and vacationing in North Dakota with his family. Most of all he loved to help Lori with remodeling, gardening and taking care of her Grandbabies. Conrad was very giving and generous; he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Conrad is survived by his best friend Lori (Tony) Koch and her three children; Jennifer Meek, Fayleen (Joe) Prosenick and children, Drew, Kirsten and Alivia; Derek (Dani) Eixenberger and son, Dyson; his daughters, Kathy of Aspen, CO; Christine (Mark) Wise and children; Angela, Kristin and Jennifer and two great-grandsons; Caroline (Tracy) Clark of Excelsior Springs, MO and sons, Shaun and Jacob; his sister Dorothy Frank of Laurel, MT; brother Floyd (Joan) of Colorado Springs, CO; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Donald, LaVerne, Richard, Betty, Edwin, Ruby and Vivian; nephew, Donald and niece, Sheri. A celebration of his life will be held at the Eagles Lodge in Gillette, WY on May 12th, 2012 at 3:00. Interment will be in Belfield, ND at a later date.
