Constance Reay "Connie" Cox, 86, Box Elder, died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Westhills Village Health Care Center in Rapid City.
Visitation will be noon until 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Rev. Kay Jennings officiating. Burial follows at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to ones favorite charity.
Connie was born April 28, 1925 at Middlesbrough, England to Foster and Elsie (Curnow) Reay. She received her education in England and joined the Women's Royal Air Force where she was an instrument repairer. Following her honorable discharge in 1950 she immigrated to Canada.
On January 26, 1952 she married Calvin Dale Cox at St. Vitelle Winnipeg, Canada. Calvin was serving in the US Air Force. The couple lived in New Mexico, Colorado, Oregon, Germany, Kansas, England, Washington, Indiana and finally settled in Box Elder.
Connie volunteered for Family Services, Ellsworth A.F.B. Library and the American Red Cross. She enjoyed entertaining and playing bingo. She was an avid steel tip dart player and she liked to play the slot machines in Deadwood.
Survivors include her husband Calvin Cox, Box Elder; son James (Christine) Cox, Plantation, FL; daughter, Joy Cox, Box Elder; grandson Jason Cox, Plantation, FL; granddaughter Julia Binkley, Belleville IL.; brothers, Robert Reay, England, Bryan Reay, England, James Reay, Indianapolis, IN, Winston Reay, England; one sister, Carole McKenzie, France.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael Cox, daughter, Melody Rydgren, granddaughter, Jennifer Williams Defeo.
