Cooper Patrick Urbaniak, age 3, Sturgis, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at the University of Minnesota Children's Hospital in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be Friday from noon until 9:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Arnold Kari and Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery.

Cooper was born July 20, 2005, in Rapid City, SD, to Joseph and Missy (Fallon) Urbaniak. He fought and won many battles with illness and beat all the odds for the past year and a half. He never stopped smiling, even in the worst times. He was a source of hope and inspiration to all.

Cooper was the best "little-big" brother. His parents and his brothers love and miss him very much.

He is survived by his parents, Joe and Missy Urbaniak, Sturgis; two brothers, Bailey and Everett, Sturgis; his grandparents, Pat and Bev Urbaniak, Union Center, and Melody and Bryan Fallon, Whitewood; aunts, Kristy and Jake Karrels and Jennifer and San Monahan, all of Sturgis; uncles, Patrick and Julie Urbaniak, Sturgis, and Marlin and Rachel Fallon, Pierre; great-grandparents, Bill and Dolores Fallon and Charles and Jessie Russell, all of Sturgis; his great-great-grandfather, Irwin Richardson, Rapid City; and four cousins.

A memorial has been established for an educational fund for Bailey and Everett.
