Cora was born in Iola, Kansas, to Lewis and Emmaline Seals on November 8, 1938. Cora later married Wendell Sowers and was married to him for 23 years. They had four children: Richard, Ronald, Randall, and Sharon.

Cora then married Wilbur Liston and spent several years in Union Center, Sturgis, and then later Yuma, Arizona.

Cora loved spending time with her children and her many friends. She loved to do embroidery, go to garage sales and play bingo. She would always welcome all to her home and enjoyed spending time with her friends.

Cora May "Corky" Liston, 77, Sturgis, died Saturday, June 25, 2016, after living a full life.

Cora is survived by her sisters, Mary Jane (David) Hill from Iola, Kansas, Vera Seals, and Catherine Seals; three children, Richard Sowers from Rapid City, Ronald (Dee Dee) Sowers of Deadwood, and Sharon (Pat) Carlson of Casper, Wyoming; four grandchildren: Dru Sowers, Dan (Samantha) Sowers, Clay Carlson, and Samantha Carlson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Randall Sowers; her late husband, Wilbur Liston; Wendell Sowers; and her parents.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Sturgis. Committal services will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
