Curtis (Sonny) Spann, 77, Newell, passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 11, 2015, at his home.

Sonny was born in Needles, CA, July 5, 1937 to Charley and Lulabelle (Minter) Spann. He married his wife Sue in 1978.

Sonny served in the US Navy and the Montana National Guard, retiring from his military career in 1991 as a Staff Sergeant (E7). Sonny and Sue moved to Newell, SD in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Sue, Newell, 5 children, 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and, 4 siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and one sister.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday May 6, 2015 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
