Cy Warren Black, 53, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 in Rapid City, SD.

Cy was born April 15, 1966 in Winner, SD to Marvin and Elna (Hollenbeck) Black.  He graduated from Campbell County High School in Gillette, WY in 1984 and promptly joined the US Navy and proudly served for over 12 years.  He was then called back into service from 2007 to 2010 where he served in the Iraq War. He was proud of his time in the military and loved being a sailor. In addition to his military service Cy spent many years as a business owner, entrepreneur and as a medical technician. He enjoyed each of his careers and looked upon them with great pride and fondness.

Cy settled in Belle Fourche and was working construction at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Black Sr.; and sister, Jayne Black.

Cy is survived by his mother, Elna Black; daughter, Jessica (Richard) Deleo; son, William Black; brothers, Marvin (Connie) Black, Mike (Mimi) Black, and Mark Black; and sisters, Linda (Kay) Black, and Barb (Jeff) Thurman.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held October 5, 2019 in Platteville, CO.
