Obituary

CynDee was born October 19, 1950, in Sioux City, IA, to Blackie (George) and Leona Stapp. In 1953, the family packed up and moved to Newell, SD, to live on their farm. In 1968, CynDee married Marvin Brierly and had two children, Jason and Wendy. CynDee enjoyed driving semi hauling freight across the country in her early twenties. She was very proud that she was the second female to be hired on at the AMAX coal mine in Gillette, WY. She was an inspiration and proved she could make it in a man's world whether it be driving truck or working at the coal mine.

CynDee married Dan Roberts in 1980 and had another daughter, Kayla, in 1981. CynDee and Dan moved to Sturgis in 1983 and after the birth of her daughter, CynDee became a house wife and stay at home mother. In 2001, they moved to Rapid City where she lived until her death.

CynDee enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, making blankets, sewing, and cooking, and going to coffee with friends. No matter what she did, she did it with heart and always did her best with what she had.

CynDee, 61, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Rapid City Regional Hospital after a long battle with illness. Survivors include her mother, Leona of Newell; her husband, Dan; three children, Jason of Rapid City, Wendy (Travis) of Victor, IA, and Kayla (Joel) of Vermillion; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Wesley, and Riley; two brothers, Tom (Darlene) and Harry (Meri) Stapp of Newell; and her nephews and nieces.

CynDee was preceded in death by her father, Blackie Stapp.

A memorial has been established.
