IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia
Sneesby
February 10, 1971 – May 31, 2025
Cynthia Sneesby, aged 54, of Spearfish, South Dakota, died on May 31st, 2025, at 3:30pm in Rapid City, South Dakota, after a strenuous battle with lung cancer. She was born on the 10th of February, 1971, in Sturgis, South Dakota, to Barbara Jean Colton and Douglas Ray Colton.
Known affectionately by many as "Mom", Cynthia attended beauty school and owned a salon in her younger years. She later became a domestic violence advocate for women, and always had a heart for helping others. She spent her life devoted to faith, and loving her friends and family unconditionally. Cynthia truly "never met a stranger, " and she made everyone she met feel like her best friend. Two of Cynthia's greatest accomplishments occurred two months before her passing. In March, she celebrated her one-year sobriety with her family and friends and her baptism alongside her daughter, Ella. Some of Cynthia's favorite things included worship music, home cooked meals, driving in the car, and spending time with her family. Even throughout her struggles near the end, she maintained her positive attitude and her bright sense of humor.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara Jean Colton; step-father, Donald Ray Hill; daughters Brittany Sneesby, Brianna Sneesby, Ella Sneesby; and her son, Phillip Sneesby.
A memorial service will be held on June 7th, 2025, at 11am at Lead Assembly of God, to honor and celebrate Cynthia's life. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Monument Health Hospice House, Rapid City, South Dakota, in Cynthia's name.
