IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daisy Bell
Baumeister
November 1, 1931 – January 13, 2020
Daisy was born to Helmer and Lily (Will) Norlin in Newell, SD, on November 1, 1931. Daisy graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1951. After graduating, she went to live with her aunt in Hartley, IA, where she met her husband, Lyle. They moved back to Belle and Lyle went to work for the state highway department. Daisy stayed at home to raise the children until they were both in school and then she went to work in the hot-lunch program. After working there for many years, she retired but decided to come to Spearfish to work in the hot-lunch program.
Lyle and Daisy opened the I-90 station in Spearfish in 1977 where she met many people. Daisy never met a stranger and was loved by all with her sense of humor and love for other people.
Daisy Baumeister left us on January 13, 2020, to be with her daughter, Kathy "Kate" Jensen; her mother, Lily Greselin; father, Helmer Norlin; three brothers, Earl, Louis, and Elmer Norlin; and sister, Wilma Johner.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lyle; son, Ken, who followed Daisy in death three months after; five grandchildren, Jamin, Ashley Rondon, Christian, Christa Hillman, and JL Jensen, who passed in May of 2021; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ester Webb from Florida and Emily Campbell from Mesa, AZ.
