Daisy M. Hareter was born in Spearfish, South Dakota on January 6, 1935 to Agnes Muriel and Lee Thomas. She went to Spearfish grade schools and high school. Daisy worked for the Dorsett home in Spearfish for 3 years before injuring her back putting her into retirement on disability. She also worked at the Canyon Café, the Hills Drive Inn in Spearfish and the Best Western in Sturgis for a couple of years each.

Daisy moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1994 and then moved to Grand Junction, CO in 2010. She enjoyed having company and visiting with family and friends, reading (while she had her vision), cooking, baking and working outside with her flower gardens. She also loved listening to music especially Polka music. Daisy attended Pear Park Baptist Church and St Mary's Life Center.

Survivors include 2 sons, Bob Syers, Grand Junction, CO and James (Peggy) Cook, Whitewood, SD. Four daughters, Kathy Syers, Grand Junction, CO, Shirley Hahka (John Oliver), Whitewood, SD, Helen (Edward) Petitt, Grand Junction, CO, and Dixie (Dale) Walker, Grand Junction, CO. Grandchildren include: Currin, Velvet(Kyle), Cubby, Sherianne, Scott(Caroline), Jimmy Lee (Willa), Sarah (Francisco), Alson and Amorie. Great Grandchildren: Dartanian, Celeste, Perry, Kalvin, Corey, Amanda, Adam, Mackinzie, Jonathan, Landon, McKayla, Heidi, Little Francisco, and Gabriel. Great-great grandchildren: Tatum and Kierra. Also her lifelong best friend Virginia Meisel of Spearfish, SD, her brothers Bill (Thelma), Richard (Georgia), Roger and sisters Linda and Joanne. As well as numerous nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her mother Agnes, her father Lee, grandson Trampus Hayes and sister Sylvia. Buriel will be at Rose Hill, Spearfish, SD.
