Services for Dale Z. Newlin, 79, Newcastle, WY, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Newcastle, WY, with Rev. J. Edwin Coates officiating.
Dale left his earthly life to be with his Savior on June 17, 2006.
He was born December 18, 1926, to Dore and Emma (Williams) Newlin in Rapid City, SD. He met Annette Farella in 1943 and on October 11, 1945, at Hot Springs, SD, she became his loving wife. Dale served in the Army during the Korean War and after his return he and Annette had two sons. After living in different cities they chose Newcastle as their home. He retired from First State Bank in 1992 after a long banking career.
Dale was active in the First United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees. He also served on the Newcastle Housing Authority Board. He was also an active member of the Astronaut Club (Retired and Taking up Space). He loved to be outside golfing, fishing and working in the yard. His wife, children and grandchildren brought him many years of happiness as well as spending time with the rest of the family and his many friends.
Survivors include his wife Annette Newlin, Newcastle; son Dennis (Michelle) Newlin, Battle Mountain, NV, son Doran (Linda) Newlin, Littleton, CO; grandsons, Blaine (Yessie) Newlin of Tomball, TX, Denton Newlin of Gillette, WY, Luke (Heather) Newlin, Rapid City, SD, Marshall, Laramie, WY; granddaughters, Dawn (Brandon) Williams, Newcastle, WY, Amanda (Cody), Jerome, ID, Cassie and Nicole, Battle Mountain, NV; also 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dore and Emma; brothers, Duane, Darrel and Douglas; stepfather, Lige Johnson.
