Dale Edwin Plant, 79, of Wall, SD, died at the Fort Meade Veterans Hospital on Sunday evening, June 17, 2001.
Visitation will be at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from noon until 9:00 p.m and on Thursday one hour prior to the services at the church in Wall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Wall with Rev. Gary Geiman officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Dale was born at Otis, CO, on February 25, 1922, to James and Maude (Parker) Plant. He grew up in Otis and attended school through the eighth grade there. He served in the US Marines during WWII. In 1949, he moved to the Wall area where he worked on ranches. He spent 32 years working on the Roy T. Shull ranch.
Survivors include two sons, Donnie Plant and his wife, Penny of Rapid City, SD, and Tim Plant and special friend, Kecia Lester of Rapid City; one daughter, Nancy Tjaden of Rapid City, SD; one sister, Doreen Pixler of Brighton, CO; and one granddaughter, Shanda Enriquez of Statesboro, GA.
