Dale Leroy Rear, 65, Sturgis, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. God saw him getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around him and whispered, Come unto Me. With tearful eyes we watched him suffer and saw him fade away; although we loved him dearly we can not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the BEST. He was born October 15, 1942 to Haakon and Enid (Lauseng) Rear in Waubay, SD. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Rear, Sturgis; one son Scott & Joan Rear, Carver, MN; three daughters Tracy & Eric Hall, Deadwood, SD., Lorie Rear, Rapid City, SD., Shelly & Coy Crowser, Sturgis, SD.; two brothers Kenny Rear, Whitewood, SD., Darcy Rear, Lead, SD.; one sister Lois Hafner, Sioux Falls, SD.; and ten grandchildren, Sasha, Mesha, Joshua and Dustin Larson; Devin, Brendon, and Reilley Hall; Daniel, Taya Crowser; and Brock Brumel. Dale was preceded in death by his father Haakon Rear, mother Enid & stepfather Ned Henry, brothers Lester Rear, and Raymond Rear. Visitation will be from 12pm to 7pm on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Black Hills Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Sturgis. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Black Hills Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with Rev. Brian Carpenter officiating. A memorial has been established in Dales name to the family.
