Dale Edwin Thomas, 67, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Belle Vista Care and Rehabilitation Center in Rapid City.

He was born December 5, 1951 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Robert and Margaret (Davis) Lever.  Dale attended school in Worcester, graduating from Worcester Boys Trade High School in 1970.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1974, spending the last three of those years at Ellsworth Air Force Base working with the Minuteman Missile Squadron.

After his time in the Air Force, Dale, moved back to Worcester for a year before moving back to Rapid City where he worked for Western Communications for several years.  He then moved back and forth between Rapid City and Massachusetts a few times before finally settling in Rapid City in 2006.  Dale loved to ride his motorcycle and mess with his 2-way radios in his spare time and was also a long-time member of the Black Hills Amateur Radio Club.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Lever; and brother in law, Edward Grosky.

He is survived by his father, Robert Lever, Haverhill, MA; brother, John Lever, Casper, WY; sister, Jane Grosky, Haverhill, MA; and one niece.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Black Hills National Cemetery with Rev. Herb Cleveland officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the Sturgis Volunteer Honor Guard and the US Air Force.
