Dalza Marion (Sayers) Satrang, 95, passed away on March 17 th , 2022, at Rolling Hills Healthcare in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.
Dalza, the daughter of Harrison and Nora (Hustead) Sayers, was born April 18, 1926, in Britton, SD. She attended rural school and high school in Marshall County, SD. Upon graduation she attended Aberdeen Normal and pursued a teaching career. She married Arthur Satrang on July 22, 1945, at Absarokee, MT, where they both worked on a Dude Ranch. Dalza was the ranch cook, feeding both the dudes and staff. They later moved back to Britton, where she taught school for seven years. From there they moved to Sturgis, in 1956, and she worked for ASCS for 25 years. Upon retirement from ASCS, she worked for Farmers Union Insurance for 12 twelve years. She totally retired in 1994, giving Arthur and her the opportunity to do some traveling.
Dalza loved being around people and had never met a stranger. Near the top of her list was being with her family, grandkids, and great grandkids.
Dalza was always busy cooking, baking, or sewing something. She and Arthur would rarely miss a chance to dance on Saturday night.
Survivors include her three kids; Butch (Rosanne) Satrang of North Canton, OH, Sharon (Robert) Jones of Howes, SD, and Robert (Nona) Satrang of Hot Springs, SD; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Dalza was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, and her three siblings.
Visitation for Dalza will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Sturgis, SD, on Monday, March 28, 2022, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., with funeral services following. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Grace Lutheran Radio Broadcast Fund.
