Dana Jo Allen Lasnetske was born May 15, 1962 in Greeley, Colorado to Donald and Norma (Davis) Allen. She spent summers with her brother David on their grandparents' ranch in Colorado, enjoying many hours with family. She was baptized at Manitou Lake, Colorado, with aunt Mary Ann and Dave Harwood in 1976.

Dana graduated from high school in Northfield, Minnesota in 1980 and continued learning on her own and taking college courses.

After moving to Sturgis, SD she married Jim Lasnetske in 1988. During their marriage, they adopted a son Zachary and a daughter Sierra in 1991 after traveling to Romania. Their family was completed with the birth of daughter Shannon in 1995. Being a mother was Dana's greatest desire in life and she enjoyed every minute of it.

Dana volunteered at Believers Fellowship Ministries while her children attended school there. She also worked as an EMT in Sturgis for a while.

Dana passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Sturgis Regional Hospital after an extended illness.

She is survived by her children Zachary, Sierra and Shannon Lasnetske of Sturgis, her mother Norma Allen, one brother David Allen (J.J.) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and their children, her grandfather Pete Allen of Wray, CO and other family and friends from Beecher Island, Colorado.

The memorial service will Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Believers Fellowship Ministries in Sturgis. Burial will be at a later date in Beecher Island, Colorado, in the family plot next to her father, as she requested.

A memorial has been established to her children.
