Darline Tinnell was born July 27, 1931, in Millboro, South Dakota, daughter of William and Addie (Rutherford) Janice. She attended kindergarten through high school in Colome, SD. where she graduated in 1949.
Darline loved her family dearly, and always enjoyed parties, picnics and family reunions with them. She also enjoyed playing Aggravation, Pitch, and Rummy. Her favorite card game was poker, and she could often be found playing poker at the Hideaway in Whitewood. She also loved to square dance, but her all-time favorite was to dance to a good country music band.
Darlene is survived by her daughter Maralea Schatz (Dennis) Spearfish, her four sons Rock (Beaner) Whitewood, Randy (Melody) St. Onge, Rick (Jolene) Lead, and Clay (Kali) Greer, South Carolina, one brother, Marlin (Marge) Colorado Springs Co., her best friend Becky Loll, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great- great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dallas, her father and mother, William and Addie Janas, her brothers; Bill Janas, (wife) Pearle, Clint Janas (Helen), Con Janas (Amanda), sisters; Verna Thomsen (Bob), Wilma. Thomsen (Harry), Granddaughters Samantha Tinnell (Clay and Kelly's daughter), as well as Julie's Tinnel (Randys Wife).
