Darrell Lee McElwain died at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls on May 19, 2021, at the age of 61.  He was born on August 14, 1959, in Sisseton, SD, to Herman Lee and Jeanette (Follette) McElwain.

Committal services with military honors for Darrell will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
