Darrell was born July 22, 1930, at Strool, SD, to Albert and Mayme (Hakinson) Wulf Davis. He attended country school. After completing his education, Darrell drove truck and worked for area ranchers where he met Joyce Aaker (the love of his life). He joined the US Marine Corps in 1951. While on leave, Darrell married Joyce on August 20, 1952. They moved to Port Chicago near Concorde, CA, where they lived until Darrell received his honorable discharge in 1953. The couple moved to Prairie City where Darrell farmed with his family. In 1955, they moved to Butte, MT, where he was a machinist helper in the copper mines. In 1959, they moved to Casper, WY, where Darrell worked as a warehouseman for Union Carbide. In 1973, they moved to Vale. Darrell farmed for many years as well as a heavy equipment operator for the Belle Fourche Irrigation District. In his later years he worked road construction and worked for a western store and taffy shop in Medora, ND. The only reason he stopped working was due to his health.
He was a member of the Newell Assembly of God Church. He was also a member of the Nisland American Legion and the Vale Fire Department.
Grateful for having shared his life include his wife, Joyce, Vale; one son, Randy (Judy) Wulf, Nisland; two daughters, Debra (Casey) Timm and Colette (Keith) Dunn, all of Vale; one brother, Floyd (Marge) Wulf, Vale; one sister, Leotta (Norman) Smith, Lodgepole, SD; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
