Darren J.C. Jacobsen "Bubba" passed away at Rapid City Regional Hospital on October 15th, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. Bubba was born February 16th, 1983 in Sturgis, SD. He graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 2001, and from there, studied Graphic Arts at USD in Vermillion. He was an active member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and a member of The Strollers.

Bubba was a friend to anyone he met. He had a big heart and gave the best Bubba hugs. He enjoyed golfing, boating, 4-wheeling in his bronco, "The Pickle", watching football, hanging with his dog, Tonka, playing with his nieces and nephews, and listening to music. He was a natural artist and enjoyed lengthy random conversations that never led to anything productive, but gave you an insight into the mind of "The Bubs".

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kinkade Funeral Home in Sturgis, SD. Visitation will be Saturday, October 17th from 4-8 pm at the Kinkade Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Sunday, October 18th, 1:00 pm at the Woodle Football Field in Sturgis, SD, followed by a picnic in the park to celebrate Bubba's life. Interment will be at 5:00 p.m on Sunday at Piedmont Cemetery. The family is encouraging those who wish to attend to wear something "Bubba green", Chive, or football attire. A memorial has been established in memory of Bubba and his struggles, to aide in other's suffering in hopes of avoiding similar circumstances. Thanks to everyone for your kind words, prayers and thoughts during our time of grief.

Bubba is survived by his parents Jim and Donna Jacobsen; brothers, Dan (Stacie) Jacobsen of Piedmont, SD, & Dave (Jen) Jacobsen of Spearfish, SD; uncle, John (Becky) Morrison of Florresville, TX; cousins, Jami (Krista) Morrison of Whitewood, SD & Lacy (Adam) Elrod of Florresville, TX; nieces Madi, Ella, Jordy and Riley Jacobsen, Allie Morrison; and nephews Tommy Jacobsen, Jackson Morrison, and Khy Volk.
