Darwin L. Reimer, 51, Gillette, WY, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 while working near Wright, WY.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 23, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 24, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Jared Tucher officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
Darwin was born August 20, 1963, in Huron, SD, to William and Verna Mae (Thompson) Reimer. He graduated from Huron High School and attended the auto body repair program at Western Dakota Vo-Tech.
On May 9, 1988 he married Brenda Reder. The couple moved to Colorado where Darwin managed an auto body shop for Macco in Ft. Collins. They lived in Colorado for five years until moving to Sheridan, WY, where he managed the body shop at a Buick dealership. They moved to Gillette where he worked for Energy Dodge. In 1998 He worked for Caterpillar for two years. At the time of his death he was a haul truck operator for North Antelope Rochelle Mine near Wright, WY.
Darwin was a huge sports fan. He enjoyed watching his boys play baseball and basketball. He also enjoyed working in his yard.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Reimer; sons, Gavin and Chase Reimer, all of Gillette, WY; brothers, Gary (Barb) Reimer, and Glenn (Toni) Reimer, all of Sturgis, SD; sisters, Shirley Buckley, Rapid City, SD, Bonnie Sondreal, Grand Forks, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-laws, David Buckley and D. Ray Sondreal.
A memorial has been established for his children's education.
