Obituary

David was born February 19, 1956, to James and Carolyn (Isely) Mattox and raised in Deadwood, SD and graduated from Lead-Deadwood High School in 1974. He graduated from the School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, SD, and was employed as a Senior Electrical Engineer at TSP in Rapid City at the time of his death.

David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially his 3-year-old grandson, Henry. He enjoyed reading, all things electronic, skiing, swimming, and many other outdoor activities. David was a deeply spiritual person who had a deep respect and reverence for life. Any creatures that ventured indoors would be gently gathered and returned to the outdoors to find more suitable accommodations.
