David A. Norby, passed away October 8, 2018 at Rapid City Hospice House.

David was born January 4, 1951 to Neltha and Erman Norby.

David went to Rapid City High School and graduated in 1969. After high school he attended South Dakota School of Mines graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering.

After graduation David moved to Farmington, New Mexico, starting his career with Amoco Production Company. After several years in Farmington he was transferred to Denver, Colorado. While living in Denver, David had several different jobs with various oil and gas companies. With each change he elevated his position in the oil and gas industry. His career gave him the opportunity to travel all over the world to interesting places. He loved the travel and meeting the challenges of the job. He also started his own company and had many working interests in oil and gas properties.

David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother Mark.
