David Lane Stewart, 53, of Rapid City, SD, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

David was the youngest child born to William (Bill) Stewart and Sharon (Taylor) Stewart in Deadwood, South Dakota.  He graduated in 1987, from Sturgis Brown High School, where he participated in rodeo and made many lifelong friends.

He was married to Tammy Burnham for 19 years.  Although they divorced, David and Tammy remained friends.

David had many jobs throughout his life starting out as a logger, then driving truck for many years, lastly working as a shop foreman and mechanic.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, camping and just relaxing.

David was preceded in death by his father, sister-in law, and loyal dogs; Dillinger, Georgie, Chester, and Charlie.

A memorial has been established to the Sturgis Animal Shelter.
