Obituary

On Sunday, May 24, 2020, Heaven gained the most precious of souls.  He was surrounded by his daughters, Tammy Bradford and Tina McComb at the Hospice House in Rapid City, SD.  They were fortunate enough to be holding his hands until his last peaceful breath.

The celebration of life will be held Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 10am at the Hillside Cemetery in Oelrichs, SD.  It will be followed by a potluck at the Chadron State Park at approximately 12 pm.  Please bring drinks for yourselves and a side dish.  We will be providing all the meat.

Our father, David Willoughby was born December 14, 1944 in Colorado and was raised in Oelrichs, SD where he met his first wife, Gwendolyn Nighswonger.  With that union, Tina Dawn was born.

Later in life he met his second wife, Sandy Faris.  They married and he was blessed to raise two fantastic boys, Steve Faris and Greg Faris, whom he loved so much.

On October 1st, 1985, he married Carolyn Fischer and was blessed to inherit two beautiful children, Tamara Ann and Timothy LeRoy.

He was loved by so many because of his wonderful, precious soul.  He enjoyed making people smile.  He reached out to the people he loved and donated to those in need, whether he knew them or not.

We are so proud to call him Dad.  He taught us many things.  And for that, we honor him and desire to carry on his legacy of true love and kind words.

His favorite saying to us was "Think Positive.  Be Positive.  Do Positive.  And the Good Lord will be riding right alongside you."

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Sara Hald; his parents, Felton and Rose Willoughby; his wife, Carolyn Willoughby; and his sister, Marylin McDaniels.

He is survived by his two daughters, Tammy and Tina; his son, Timothy; six grandchildren, Staci, Stephanie, Scotty, Nicholas, Christopher and Sara; and five great grandchildren.
