Dawn Darlene Dachtler, 45, Rapid City, died Sunday, October 26, 2008 at her residence in Rapid City.

Committal services will be 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Fr. Kerry Prendiville officiating. Friends may gather at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis prior to leaving for the cemetery.

Dawn was born April 20, 1963 at Chamberlain, SD, to Gary and Susan (Conner) Ames. She moved to Sturgis at the age of 13. After completing her education in Sturgis, she attended Western Dakota Vo-Tech where she earned her LPN degree. She was employed as a nurse in Rapid City and Sturgis.

Dawn was a caregiver and chose to be a stay at home Mom to care for her husband, grandfather and children. Dawn was a very caring person. She also enjoyed movies and her computer.

Survivors include her parents Gary and Susan Ames, Sturgis; husband Michael Lench, Sturgis; one son Adrian (Matt) O'Daniel, Seattle, WA; one daughter, Susan (Chris) Hein, Rapid City; one brother, Gary L. (Jana) Ames Jr., Winner, SD; one sister Roxann (Bill) Snyder, Sturgis; one grandson Kevin Hein, Rapid City.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
