Deborah Lee "Debbie" Blakeman, 68, dually residing in Sturgis, SD, and Apache Junction, AZ, journeyed to be with the Lord, her brothers, and her parents on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Rapid City Regional Hospital with her immediate family and siblings by her side.
She was born, November 24, 1949, in Ipswich, SD, to Eugene and Tillie (Stoecker) Heupel. Debbie graduated from Lead High School in 1968; she continued her education in business and graduated from Black Hills State College in 1975.
Debbie was married to Jim Blakeman July 6, 1979, in Deadwood, SD. Debbie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, four-wheeling in the Black Hills, crocheting, and reading and socializing with her friends in SD and AZ.
Survivors include her husband, Jim of Sturgis; daughter, Michelle of Mesa, AZ; son, Jesse (Jenna) of Sturgis; three granddaughters, Sydnee of Mesa, and Braylee and Bryar of Sturgis; brothers, Marlo (Debbie) Heupel of Lead, SD, and Kevin Heupel of Alliance, NE; sister, Melodie (Mark) Carney of Ponca City, OK; and numerous extended family members.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dennis & Lennie.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2018, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kris Garlick officiating. Inurnment will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 16, at Black Hills National Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
